11/21/09 - Loving me some Gurtoks!

Today my friend called for my help with Malistaire. I still needed my robe for my life guy (which I still didn't get). After defeating the fire gurtok we moved onto the ice one and after beating him I got the surcoat of the charge. The crown robe that gives helephant. I was pretty surprised. A few weeks back I had also gotten the matching shoes, that give collossus. Now I just need the hat :D

But with no luck on getting my robe it was still a fun experience. My friend (Isaac) is a fun guy :)

So far I have managed to get 3 crown items from the instance:

So I am very happy, I use them for pvp. Obviously not boots of the comet, but the other 2 fill the places of missing arena gear for some of my guys.

Oh, and I snagged a picture of Isaac with Malistaire, good times :)


I also managed to grab a few battles in the arena. And finally got to a new highest rank for me. I managed to get past the 1000's and into the 1100's for the first time. Yay me! :)

Anyway, I had a good day today. And good luck farming for some more crown items everyone!

11/18/09 - The Man On The Moon

You know that face on the moon above the two-headed dog Orthrus.



Well I was just wondering....why? Ya know?

Kings Isle likes to make things look cool or exaggerated, or possible even 'cuter'. Though, in all honesty, this moon kind of creeps me out. It's like an evil stalker face printed on the moon that stares down on all who summon the mighty beast, Orthrus.

I mean maybe if they made a happy face that makes you smile at its ecstatic mood, and take your mind off the dog below crawling out from the depths of the earth. But no, they decided to go with a creepy face that's cracking a half smile and staring you down with dead eyes.....yikes...

I just ask why King Isle decided to do this. Maybe to exaggerate the whole "man on the moon" thing. How the craters on the moon, some what resemble a face. So maybe they just exaggerated it, and actually put a face? So then I ask....were they making the face based off of a real person?

So what are your thoughts?

Do you find the moon creepy? Why do you think Kings Isle would add this? Do you think I am crazy and you don't really care about the subject at all? Well? Am I crazy? IS THAT WHAT YOU THINK?!?!

11/17/09 - A New Discovery Has Been Made In The Spiral!

I have heard rumors of a rare creature hiding somewhere in Dragonspyre. Maybe in a cave, or inside a cloud.....maybe it doesn't even exist. Who is to know right?

Well guess what.....I saw it.....the rare....and amazing.....

MARSHMALLOW DRAGON!!!



It's an amazing creature, I vow to one day capture the mighty beast. You hear me dragon! I WILL CAPTURE YOU!!!

11/16/09 - The New Earthstrider

As a Grandmaster Myth wizard, I decided to have myth colors so I have had blue and yellow clothes (Blue as the main, yellow as the trim).

Though, since I dyed my clothes I have seen a ton of myth people with those same colors. Therefore, I finally decided to change it again. I liked the blue, but decided to change the yellow to black, and I have to say, it looks really nice :)


Also, I managed to download Xfire, and figured out how to stream live. So I will start doing that daily probably. Unless I am doing something boring :D

Oh and I would like to say thanks to Fallon, from diaryofawizard.com. She added my blog to her toolbar.....so....

11/15/09 - Menu Chatter For The Win!!

Well I ported to my friend who was in the arena.

He did that small bug that lets you actually get inside the arena, so you can just fight for fun by walking into the circle.

So then we have friends port and do some 1v1's, and 3v3's.

Then randomly this menu chatter joins the party. Her name was Michelle SpiritFlower, and is a level 6 ice wizard. So, we decided to have some fun with her. For some reason she continuously entered the battles one after another even though she got beaten nearly every time, but her persistence was very commendable. My friend Caleb was being pretty rude to her, since she is not able to hear him. Making fun of her and completely over-killing her. It wasn't very nice, and Michelle agreed, with the constant,

"That wasn't nice!" or
"Don't be mean!"

So then we got into a 3v3. It was me and a balance friend, plus Michelle. We were against Caleb, a 13 death, and a 49 myth. So me and my friend continued to shield her as she healed and managed to stay alive the whole battle.

Then after knocking out 2 of them me and William (the friend on my team) managed to knock the remaining person to 16 health or so. Then, Michelle made the final blow and won us the match! :D

Way to go girl!

So, never underestimate the power of a menu-chatter, they may come back with a vengeance!

11/14/09 - The Friendly Conjurer??

After being a grandmaster for quite some time, and currently working on my third, I get bored from time to time. I usually just go run around the commons, getting bombarded with friend requests....

Why don't I turn them off you ask?? I have no idea what so ever.......I am just so lazy that I can't click on like 3 things and turn them off I guess :)

Anyway, back on topic. This week I have been doing things a little different. I have decided to humor these people and actually add them. Or just run up to random people and start chatting away. I have really enjoyed this. Turns out if your Mr. smiley, friendly, overly happy, crazy, perky, peppy, random, funny, hot, handsome, awesome, strong.....got carried away there sorry....

But if you shine a smile, then usually you get one back :)

A smile is like a light, and just a few people can brighten the world for all of us.

Woah....did I just say that....I am so deep! I never knew I had it in me!!

So yeah I have made a lot of new friends, and it feels good. So give this a try:

-Go to the commons on a some what empty realm, not one filled with people talking left and right.

- Go up to a random person. I prefer girls. They are more interesting to talk to, and generally more happy :)

-Then just say hi with a smile

-See how many friends you can make!

ON A SIDE NOTE:

I am working on a remix for the Holidays. I love to make music, as well as listen to it of course. So, recently I have began working on a remix of 'We Wish You A Merry Christmas'. I have turned a classic Christmas carol, into a dance-ey, and fun, techno song. I will be working on it until December, to ensure it's nice and ready. I will probably release a sneak peek later this month, but the final product won't be released until around December 20th or so.

Just keep an eye out for any links to it on here, I am some-what impatient, so I will post an unfinished version at some point.

11/9/09 - Moving up in the tournament and farming Malistaire

I joined the magus tournament on central. Using my level 37 death wizard, Tyler SkullStrider. So far he has won his first 2 matches. Just 3 more to go!

I am pretty excited. This is my first tournament. Well I joined 3 at the same time. But, technically it's still one of the first. During the time since the tournament began I also managed to gain his commander hat. Just need the tickets for the robe. So things are going pretty well.

As with my life guy, he is still having trouble getting Malistaire to drop his robe. He is very evil :(

I would say I have tried around 20 times so far. Maybe 21 is the charm :D

10/30/09 - Arena Jerks

I have a few things I want to discuss here.

I have been playing this game for maybe 6 or 7 months now. The past 2 of those months I have became very addicted to PvP.

As I am sure everyone can imagine, in a big online world there is bound to be people that are very rude. Yesterday, I unfortunately ran into one of those people. This is the story.

I was on my Grandmaster life guy, Valdus Thorn, and went into a 3v3 match with Paige and William. They are grandmaster fire and grandmaster storm. We were paired against 2 storm and a myth. They pretty much destroyed us on account of us going second. Minus them getting very annoyed with my constant rebirths of course :)

Anyway....

I used some storm shields to protect me, and they were complaining they were treasures. (Which they weren't) I just had some extra training points so I went ahead and learned storm shield.

So after the match, since with the newest update we stay in the arena until we hit the commons button. They said that I was cheap for using treasures. I of course responded saying they werent, and then left the arena. Then I got a whisper from one of our opponents...we will call him Bob.....I am Tyler...

Bob - Are you a dumb***?

Tyler - Um no?

(again I explained how they werent treasure storm shields)

Bob - Yea, sure

Tyler - I am serious. Honestly I had some points left over so I bought storm shield cause I am afraid of storm.

Bob - HAHA Your just a wimp who cant fight!

Bob - Homo

Tyler - Yeah keep calling me names, I know it makes you feel special. Have fun :)

(Then I reported and ignored him)

Some people are just annoying. I can get past being called a noob, or whatever. But actually insulting me is quite bothersome.

Later that day I spent my day in the commons, and again thanks to the update you cant spam something you said. So you have to retype something if you want to say it multiple times, thus eliminating the constant "I need a girl" and "TRADE ME RARE CARDS FOR CODES" and all that jazz....

So it was nice to have some peace and quiet.

And for some reason lately I have found the urge to 'meow' all the time....Don't ask why cause I have no answer for you. I just like to make random noises.

10/15/09 - Test Realm Goes Live! How to Obtain Secret Mount Colors

Everyone by now knows about the mounts. From the brooms to the dragons, they are quite fun to have. Something a lot of people don't know is how to change there color. Here is a little tutorial:

1. Go into the crowns store and under mounts double click on whichever one you want.

Note: I don't think this works for dragons or brooms

2. After finding your favorite mount on the list, go under the outfits section of the store. (the picture with the hat)

3. Without clicking anything else, you should have the genie outfit selected by default. Go to the change colors button.

4. Dye the genie outfit (just the main color, NOT the trim) one of 3 colors. Either dark blue, dark green, or dark orange. Not sure what other colors work, so feel free to experiment, but I do know that these work for sure.

5. Go back under mounts and click on the same one you did before. This also includes the amount of time your renting it. For example,

If you clicked on a royal lioness (permanent) the first time you have to click on the SAME one. You can't click on the permanent one the first time then the 7-day one the second time. It must be the SAME mount for the SAME amount of time.

6. After finding the same mount, if done correctly, it should look different. With the Tigers I know that

Dark blue gives you a 'zebra tiger'. So it has white fur and black stripes.
Dark Green gives a black Tiger.
And Dark orange gives a tiger with spots (basically a cheetah).

Same goes for the Lion.

With the horses the changes might not be as noticable, but there is usually a slight difference. I haven't tried every combination though.

7. After you see its color has changed, from then on you just click buy and there ya go! A newly colored mount ready for your behind to sit on and ride.

10/14/09 - OMG I AM WARLORD

Well I have been doing a lot of 1v1 lately, cause I always thought the pvp armor was shiny and awesome. So after lots of matches I made it to commander with only 8 wins left until I could buy my commander hat. Then my friend who was barely a Warlord (905 rank or so) ended up losing his next match.

Our ranks were withing 30 of each other. So the next match we fought ended up being against each other. (Do I smell an idea?)

So he let me win. (no he didn't pass. We did fight. He just wouldn't kill me completely if he had the chance.) So anyway we ended up getting paired 5 times in a row, cause the game just loves me :) Then I ended up making warlord.

This brought me to just 3 more wins until my hat. Of course the higher ranked you get, the more difficult (or cheap) your opponents get. So therefore I was worried. Luckily, I got paired against someone who was trying to lower his rank. So I did a little victory dance and joined another battle. Once again, it was the same guy. Then, a third time. So basically I got 8 free wins and managed to get my hat and warlord rank in just an hour. I was just ecstatic!

So now I have been winning a few more matches. My rank is now 989 and I seem to be doing fairly well.

Also, I love meeting new people and reading what they have to say, so thanks to Friendly's blog I stumbled across 2 some what lonely blogs.....like mine :(

On a side note, my mom's friend and her husband and son live with us. And her son (Brandon) is utterly obsessed with the song 'Your A Jerk' by New Boys. He is also attempting to learn how to jerk. Strongly emphasizing the word ATTEMPTING. But since he is white, he is therefore immune to being able to jerk.

(No that is not racist)

I do get a kick out him trying to do it though. And from watching his mom lie and say he is good with a fake smile on her face :)

10/5/09 - PvP and Test Realm

Been doing lot's of pvp lately on my myth. I always liked the idea of pvp, but always found 1v1 to be quite boring.

Me.....alone....attacking whatever random guy/girl I get paired with. Only a cyclops minion to keep me company on occasion. EXCITING! (not)

So yeah, but now my friend William (level 50 storm) and I decided to do some 2v2. We only lost one out of our 9 matches. Then yesterday, since his wife also plays the game, she joined in and we did some 3v3. Surprisingly we didn't lose a match. Storm, fire, and myth grandmasters make a good team.

By the end of the night I made it to captain (757 rank now), William made it to warlord (934 or something around there), and his wife, Stephanie, made it to commander (820 or something).

William managed to buy the commander boots and infection amulet. Stephanie bought her wings, cause wings are just awesome! And I am still trying to reach commander to spend my 759 arena tickets on something.

All in all, been doing pretty well in arena lately.

Test Realm:

The test realm came out for us to play around with this weekend. Much to my surprise, there were actually much more added to the game then I had previously thought. Not only is there mounts, but also henchman, elixirs, and a new grandmaster tower. It's just awesome!

I thought riding a tiger through the streets of Wizard City would be enough, but no they added even more awesome things. Kings Isle has really out done themselves.

Also the addition of the seamstress was nice too. Have an ugly outfit that has good stats? Why not make it look like one of your other items? Now you can look however you want and still have the best stats you can get.

The grandmaster tower....was actually hard. Fighting 4 enemies at one time (about 1200 health each) isn't too bad. Then you reach the boss, all full of worry and doubt. You were warned that they 'cheat'. Well we bashed on him and eventually killed him. He didn't do too much to us, and neither did his minion he summoned. After his death though, he spawned again. So we were a bit confused, but gave it a shot.

We were setting up for a one hit kill, because we like being show-offs and overkilling anything that comes in our way. Then within 2 turns of us giving the final blow, the boss whips out a meteor. Of course this is where the cheating comes into play....

Rather then doing a mere 200-400 damage it did 10,000. To all of us, thus ending that fight.

A very shameful loss indeed.......

So when this hits live realm, i am grabbing my friends and killing that guy once and for all!

I don't want to go into details about everything, it would just be too long. But this update is sure to be awesome.

10/2/09 - Tricks, Towers, and Treats

As you all know the Halloween decorations and quests finally arrived yesterday!

You got your ghosts, your scarecrows, your pumpkins, your scary towers, you got everything!

There are quite a bit of fun quests to do from Jack Hollow. Such as running around finding pumpkins in various areas, or catching different colored ghosts that are flying around. It's all quite fun. Your usually rewarded with some gold, or a black cat treasure card.

One of the more difficult quests (mainly for lower levels) is the battle against Mordecai in triton avenue. This boss has 2000 health and I believe his minion has around 800. Either way it's a pretty difficult battle to fight. You will want to bring some friends. Bosses usually focus on one person, or who ever is attacking/healing. So whoever becomes the target just shield them and have someone else charge up a strong attack to kill the boss. After completing this quest you are awarded with a plain pumpkin mask. So now you can kill people with a punpkin on your head......that's fun right?

Another fun edition with this special event is the towers located in Ravenwood. There is an easy, medium and hard tower. To gain access to these towers you must get the quest from jack that asks you to speak to Malorn in Ravenwood. Then you will be able to go inside. You should have at least one other person with you when doing these.

The quickest way to get through them is wipe your deck clean of everything except 1 blade, 1 attack all spell, 2-3 pixies, and 1 of whatever your strongest spell is.

So if you have one other person with you then your strategy will go like this:
-Both people use there attack all enemy spells when you gain 4 pips. This should enable you to just fly through every floor except the boss.
-When you reach him, again have both players use there attack all enemy spells to get rid of the minions.
-Then both use their blades and their strongest attacks and the bosses should be dead.

Each tower should be a breeze if done correctly. Also, keep in mind that the hard tower contains some nice drops from the boss as well as the minions. The ones I know of are:

- Spider Golem Pet [boss only]
- Greater Imp Pet (Comes with imp spell card) [any enemy]
- Marleybone Camping Tent (which you can go inside, it's pretty nice) [boss only]
- Antique Cello [Not sure, I think boss though]
- Dead Briar Tree [any enemy]
- Wraith Statue [any enemy]
- Unicorn Statue [not sure]
- One of the Halloween staffs [boss]

10/1/09 - Strange Pets and Global Warming in Wizard101

Kings Isle Has now released even more gift card pets. These gift cards as before give crowns and a pet. This pet gives either a card, or some sort of boost to health, attack, etc. But some of them are ridiculous.

You should all be familiar with the cute little piggles from the wizard city pet shop. The pig that has wings and flies by your side with it's tongue swaying in the breeze. But no. Kings Isle didn't think that was enough....there was only one way to make it even cooler......

.......fuse it with a zebra.....

I know, I know, that sounds awesome and all. But don't get your hopes up. It doesn't come with a zebra spell.....what a disappointment.

Instead it comes with a storm shark spell, which isn't bad, but it's no zebra either.





In Other News:

As October finally arrives the world of Wizard city has begun to fall apart. People are hopelessly confused. Everything is spinning into chaos......the culprit you ask?

Global Warming is your answer. That's right. The spiral in it's entirety is experiencing global warming due to marleybone. It's balloon rides may seem fun, but they use a lot of toxic and hazardous gases to power those things. These fumes are finnally building up enough to cause havoc in the streets of even Wizard City!

People are losing their minds



They don't know the difference between a boy and a girl. It's madness! Beware of these fumes!

These toxic gases could turn your brain inside out. Or make your pet shoot out spaghetti. Or even cause you to believe your a ballerina!

The residents of marleybone are being sued for there actions and things should return to normal in a few years. Until then.....don't die.

Today I decided that I don't have many pictures of my friends here on Wizard101. So, I thought why not just take hundreds of pictures all day so I have all kinds of memories!

Pictures are a great way to remember things, or bring back memories, or blackmail your friends when they do something stupid. Or maybe a strange glitch occurred and your pet turned into a giant talking waffle that was engulfing all of Wizard City. Doubt you want to miss a picture would ya?

Just make sure you always have a camera around on Wizard101 or even in real life, because you never know what will happen ;)

So far I only have a few pictures, but by the end of the day I plan to have.....200 at least

9/29/09 - Almost October Celebration

October is only 2 days away. This month not only is the month containing the release of the mounts, but also Halloween. Kings Isle has already started a poetry contest regarding this special holiday. Not to mention there will almost definitely be spooky decorations like last year!

So now we can prance around the spooky streets of wizard city on a brand new mount. What more could you want!

Then of course they are adding the school specific houses. So now each school has will have it's own unique house just in time for the holiday. So now your chillin at your myth based bachelor pad. Handing out candy to the boys in girls. Then running away on a tiger to scare everyone. The ultimate plan.

Plus, with the contest we can win the black cat pet, ninja pig costume, or Halloween costume. I guess pigs are related to Halloween.....but either way that's pretty cool.

Wizard101: 5 Million and Counting

A few weeks ago, King Isle placed the new (and some what pretty) fountain statue, in the pond, in the commons. The purpose of it was to show thanks to us, for playing the game. Wizard101 has passed the 5,000,000 registrations mark. So there are over 5 million wizard accounts. That's just incredible. September was also a celebration of their 1 year anniversary. So basically that means in one year they gained 5 million players.

Congratulations Kings Isle! You have made an amazing game, and as it continues to grow and get better so does the community.

Lots of people complain. Such as you take to long to add new worlds. Or something is wrong with this, or this needs to be changed, or this is stupid. Though in reality, you update the game almost every month. That's faster then nearly every other MMO I have seen. Your a very talented organization. No matter what people say, or complain about, this game is very well made, and the community is amazing.

Unlike some games, you actually listen to your players. Your updates come from our ideas, and our feedback actually is read.

Mounts are coming next month, and I can't wait. I am sure it will bring a lot of joy to all the people complaining of boredom. Seriously I don't think it's possible to be bored while leaping through town on a tiger!

I mean come on....IT'S TIGER FOR GOODNESS SAKE!

Or a dragon....or horse...or broom....either way it will be awesome.

King Isle has done a very good job with this game so far. I can't wait to see how it evolves.

Busy Day

Today and tomorrow morning are going to be very busy for me. Tomorrow is my birthday so I have to get a lot of things done.

-Cleaning up
-Setting up
-Buying Required Food and Beverages
-Getting a Sufficient Amount of School Work Done
-Then HAVE FUN!

Tomorrow is going to be a fun day for sure though. Just having a little Halo 3: ODST fun basically all night. Maybe Left 4 Dead and such in there somewhere. Definitely going to be quite a party going on here.

If you noticed I now have a little header for my blog, which I just love. It was made by Norymar15 on Wizard101 central. So, a big thanks to her.

I made it to 5 followers (Yipee!) partially thanks to 'Diary of a Wizard'. Hopefully the numbers will continue to increase.

Also, with the mounts being added to Wizard101 next month I added a poll to celebrate. So vote and tell me which one you plan on buying.

Wizard101 Chessboard bug Tutorial

Made a quick video on how to do a fun housing bug. I know a lot of other tutorials have been made, but people have commented on my housing videos asking for it. So here it is:




On a side note. If you read my post before this regarding what I am getting for my birthday, I decided to go with the Numark Total Control. Which cost $195, but I feel it's totally worth it.

Just a short post describing what is going to happen in the next couple days.

Well first off is blog news:

I made a blog on Wizard101 Central (http://www.wizard101central.com/). I also sent the administrator a message hoping to get this blog approved. So that way I can post a link to this one inside of that blog, and possibly boost my viewers/followers.

I also asked someone on central to make a nice signature which I hope to use as a header for this page. If not, I'll try to find someone else. So that would be a nice touch.

I also got put into the Blog Reel of another Wizard101 site (http://mywizard101.com/) which was pretty cool. So thanks to the person who did that.

Wizard101 News:

Well I am sure everyone has heard of the new mounts coming to Wizard101 next month. (http://www.wizard101central.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27263)

I am not sure if they mean it's going on to test realm in October or if it's being released on the live realm. Either way I hope they open up the test realm soon.

Also, the news that they are releasing school houses is pretty cool. I just hope I can afford all this update has to offer.

My Characters Update:

Tyler Earthstrider, who is my main wizard, has finally managed to gain all his grandmaster myth stuff. That includes his deck, wand, and amulet as well. So he is complete. Now I am planning on doing 1v1 to hopefully gain commander gear for him as well. He currently has 610 tickets.

Valdus Thorn, my life wizard, is still collecting his gear. He managed to get his hat and boots. As well a his athame. Now he is trying to get that rotten Malistaire to drop his robe. I have gotten the storm robe 5 times, and the balance, fire, and myth once. So that's a total of eight tries so far. Hopefully today I can go for a 9th.

As for my death guy, Tyler Skullstrider, he is still in hyde park. I am trying to complete the game with my friend, but we aren't on together that much. As for pvp with him, I have managed to get his commander boots through early level bolt spamming. Now I am starting to 2v2 with my balance friend without the use of bolts. I have 412 arena tickets at the moment.

So overall everyone is doing fairly well in general. I am usually on my myth wizard hanging in the commons. Leave a comment if you want to meet or anything.

General News:

My birthday is this Friday (September 25th) and I am trying to debate what I want to get at this point. Instead of a bunch of games and what not I decided between 2 larger priced things. Then just with whatever money I get, I will buy other things I wanted.

My choices right now are between a Flip Ultra HD camera which is around $200, along with some nice headphones for $70. Or one of 2 products from numark. Either the Numark Total Control or the Numark Stealth I believe it's called. THese are mixers used to DJ. You add tracks to both sides of it. Then you can work with it from there. The price ranges from $200-$350. Depending on which one I get. Both come with software and it's hard for me to choose.

On a side note. One friend got me Halo 3: ODST. He gave it to me yesterday and I have to say it was awesome.

Wizard101 Privacy

This afternoon I spent a couple hours on Wizard101. I just spent this time in the commons. I just enjoy hanging around and seeing what people are up to. Occasionally someone will come talk to me and things just progress from there.

As everyone knows, the commons is full of people spamming. Thing like "I need treasure cards" and "Help me with this boss" to "I need a girl/boy". Spamming can get very annoying, but that's not the point of this post.

I am here to discuss a major issue. This one person named Monica (I do not remember her last name) continuously asked who wants her grandmaster account because she has a family account. A few lower level intrigued by the idea of gaining access to a grandmaster account went up to her of course. She then told them that she would trade accounts with them and asked them to 'go first'.

I told them to not listen to her, it's a scam, don't tell her your account info, and so on. I stopped everyone, but she still continued to do it. I just hope nobody honestly gets into this situation. Most likely the account was a fake. I know this because in order to get to grandmaster you would need a subscription or crowns which cost money. Plus, the people coming up to her were low level (10 and below) which probably didn't have a membership. So basically she would be trading an account she is paying for to get her hands on one that has no membership. In other words, a complete waste. Therefore, she could not actually be serious.

So she was giving them a fake user-name and password in return for the victims actual account. Thus, scamming an innocent player of the game. Thankfully I stopped her from stealing any accounts, but this does happen often and sometimes people aren't there to stop it.

So please report anyone who is trying to scam people out of their account. It is against the rules to give out any account information.

DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY ACCOUNT INFORMATION TO ANY PLAYER!

Kings Isle themselves even said they would not ask for your password. So no matter what someone says or promises to do, never give out that information. It can lead to serious consequences.
